Frequently Asked Questions

Why do publishing costs vary?

Unless using our Flat Rate Publishing, you must publish in the county where your LLC was formed. Newspaper rates vary significantly by county. Remember, it’s part of the State’s legal requirements that your legal notices be run in two different newspapers. Because newspapers will vary by county, their prices vary as well. The rate per county that we charge is based on the cheapest papers we can use within each county.

What happens if I miss the 120-day deadline?

Your LLC’s authority to conduct business may be suspended. Even after the deadline passes, you must complete the same requirements to lift the suspension. It’s worth noting that even if you haven’t completed or started the publication process after the 120-day period, you still have to follow the same steps. Once completed any suspension would be lifted.

Yes! Email us for newspaper names and publication dates. After the six-week publication period, we upload affidavits of publication to your client portal.

If you’re interested in viewing your legal notices just send us an e-mail and we’ll provide you with the newspaper names and the specific run dates. Once your legal notices complete their six-week printing schedule, we will upload onto your client portal the affidavit of publication from both papers substantiating that your legal notices ran.

What about out-of-state LLCs?

Foreign LLCs must file a Certificate of Authority and complete the publication requirement to conduct business in New York State. If you want to conduct business in New York State, but you formed your LLC out of state, you’ll have to file a Certificate of Authority. Following this, you’ll then be required to complete the publication requirement.
